Welcome to my new blog! Thanks to the talented designer Deb Wagner at DStripe (http://www.dstripe.com) My site is looking all of one piece. I can not recommend her enough! She’s talented patient and fun! The site has not changed drastically but the new blog is what I am really thrilled about. Every wedding brings a great story and it’s always fun to share. So as an attempt to keep my up coming 2014 New Year’s resolution of blogging consistent ~ here goes! Since I didn’t blog at all this past year (2013)- hard to believe the year flies like that – I thought best to start with my last wedding of the year and work back from there. So please visit – I have a lot to write about we had 30 weddings!
Heather and Ben’s wedding was just a few weeks ago. They were just a delight. We met months ago on the Northside to start talking about the wedding and I had been looking forward to it ever since then. It was great to see them in Philly for their engagement session along the river on a gorgeous summer evening.(I’ll have to post that soon as well!)
Their wedding was on a crisp, sunny autumn day in the Laurel Highlands. They met and exchanged their gifts at the private club before the ceremony. The wind kept things interesting and the sun and autumn colors kept the surroundings festive while we photographed the wedding party and family portraits as well. The ceremony was at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ligonier. It was traditional and beautiful under a spectacular dome in the church. Heather and Ben and their parents deserve a lot of credit for having an outdoor receiving line too. Their spirits never faltered even with the bracing cold.
Then it was back to the club for a great night of fun. Band leader Rick Purcell kept the dance floor active all night. There was one break away from the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table. Heather and Ben – served donuts and pie with ice cream. It was a terrific hit.
The night ended with a sparkler send off by family and friends. It’s always a picturesque way to finish!
